Green Maternal Ancestry

Daniel Crume came to this country from Scotland around 1710 and settled near Manassas, Prince William County, Virginia. Later the Battle of Bull Run was fought near his homestead. Daniel returned to Scotland around 1733 in order to settle an old estate and was never heard from again. It is believed that he was lost at sea. The son was Philip Crume, born 9 Aug 1724 at Bull Run, Frederick County, Virginia. Philip Crume married Margaret Weathers on 23 Dec 1749. The couple had 12 children, listed as follows:

3. Susannah b. 1754 m. Birkhead

4. Mary b. 1756 m. Birkhead, also

5. Daniel b. 1738

6. Jesse b. 1760

11. Sarah b. 1771 m. Marks

12. Eunice m. Klinglesmith

Philip Crume's wife Margaret Weathers Crume died in 1787. Philip married his second wife Hannah (Anna) Barrett on 9 Sep 1788 in Shenandoah County, Virginia. This couple had five children, listed as follows:

1. John b. 1789

2. Margaret b. 1791 m- John Ridgeway

3. Nancy b. 1792 m. Rev. Charles B. Jordan

4. Keziah b. 1793 m. James Howey

3. "Squire” b. 1798

It was found that the direct line of descent was Philip Crume, Jr., the second child of Philip and Margaret Weathers, so he and his family are listed as follows;

Philip Crume, Jr. 1752 - 1823 m. Sarah Trot or Trout about 1778 in Virginia. This couple had three sons:

1. Jesse 1779-1864

2. John D. 1781-1875

3. Philip W. 1784-1844

John D. Crume m. Jane Kirkham 1804. This couple had seven children as listed:

1. Sarah Ann ( Sally ) m. Thomas Shields and moved to Lincoln County, Missouri

2. Philip W. 1814-1873

3. William Taylor

4. Catherine -Elizabeth 18 1897 m. Cary Allen

5. Mary Jane m. Jobe (John) Taylor

6. Jonathan Wright m. Leah Jane Dryden

7. Jesse 1825-1890 single

Philip W. Crume m. Sarah Ann McIntosh 1 Feb 1840 in Lincoln County, Missouri. This couple had eight children as listed,.

1. George 1841-1920 m. Louise Hall.This couple had 8 children:

b. Albert U. f. Cyrean or Searean Sneed

c. Lewis R. g. Laura m. Riffle

d. Jesse P. h. John William died in infancy
