PHINEAS FRAZIER'S PARENTAGE

A Short Synopsis of my very good "theory"

by Paul Frazier

My family members have been hunting for the parents/siblings of Phenes (Phineas) Frazier (Frazer) (and variant spellings of the names) for many years.

First, here is how I am related:

Phineas Frazier 1827-1892
Charles Frazier 1871-1933
Leland Frazier 1920-2000
Paul Frazier 1944-

My theory is based on many facts that we know and some assumptions. We have been looking in and around Coshocton County, Ohio, with not much luck, as have many others. I found it somewhat strange that none of Phineas' children wrote down anything about Phineas' father or mother, with my theory, maybe we can see possibly why.
Fact~~~~~ Phineas was born 1827 in Linton Twp, Coshocton County, Ohio.

Fact~~~~~ Phineas claims in the 1880 census that both his father and his mother were born in Virginia.

Fact~~~~~ There was only one Frazier family to live in Linton Twp prior to 1835.
That Frazier was Henry Frazier. Henry moved to Linton Twp, Coshocton County, Ohio from Campbell County, Virginia in 1816. Among many children he had a son born between 1825-1830 (Phineas).

In 1810, Henry married Polly (Mary) King 1798-1850's (notice the young ages). Henry was the first son of William T. Frazier. Henry was born in Campbell County, Virginia 1794-1850's.

For census tracing purposes use these spellings:
1820 Henry Frazure, Linton Twp, Coshocton County, Ohio
1830 Henry Frasure, Linton Twp, Coshocton County, Ohio
1840 Henry Frazier, Brush Creek Twp, Highland County, Ohio
1850 Henry Fraser, District 1, Owen County, Kentucky
In 1834, Henry and Mary sold their 100 acres in Linton Twp and moved to Pike County, Ohio, very close to his brother James George Frazier, who moved to Highland County, Ohio, from Campbell County, Virginia in 1834.

Henry's father William T. died in 1838 and for some reason Henry and his oldest son Lewellyn King Frazier sued the estate of William T. Frazier. I don't know why, but that "will" exists. Sometime before 1840, Henry moved to Highland County, Ohio, next county to the west, probably to be even closer to his brother. Henry has a son living with him born 1825-1830 (Phineas?). His son Lewellyn married in 1838 and moved to Owen County, Kentucky.

Henry shows up again in the 1850 census in Owen County, Kentucky, living very close to his son Lewellyn. The post office closest was New Liberty, KY. Henry and wife Mary are living with a man named Presley Calvert, there is a child living with Henry and Mary named Elizabeth age 10.

For some reason, I don't think Phineas moved to Kentucky with his parents.

If my theory is correct, there is a lot of genealogy on Wiiliam T. Frazier. He had two wives and 24 children and he was a wounded veteran of the Revolutionary War. He is registered with the DAR.

William T.'s father was Hugh Frazier born 1732 in Abermarle County, Virginia.

Any comments?
