Note:

The main service, "Thumper", prefers to run in Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE). Netscape works ok. However, NS users will notice a significant speed difference so, please be patient. Other browsers, such as Opera, Konqueror and the like will work in most cases but we are not trying to make an effort to make these work as well the two main browsers. One thing to note is all browsers must have "Java", especially Javascripts enabled. Else, almost nothing will function. One Members Page
Home PagesWebEditor Each member is entitled to 30 MB of free HomePage space. You may add any content you want (as long as it doesn't violate the Usage Guidelines) . At set up time, we create a page for you. Later, you may design your own pages. You may use either the Easy or Advanced editors. The Easy Editor can create prebuilt pages using templates so you needn't know HTML or have programming experience. The page(s) can be edited at anytime by clicking the "Web Editor" or "My HomePage" links. Also available is the ability to add sub-folders and limited use of cgi's . Your new homepage address will be
"http://www.usgenealogy.net/members/USERNAME/".
An upgrade to a Premium Account will increase your disk space if you need it, among other goodies. Also, we preloaded a complete, fully customizable instance of "Geneweb" accessible from your page. Just click the link and you're there. (See This Link for Details)
Web Page Promotion We offer a service to our members that will simply and easily promote the Web Pages they've created here. Why fight and dig to root out the addresses for all those search engines when we can do it for you?
IM (Instant Messaging)/Buddy Info An ICQ-like IM client. Place a known user in the "To" then simply type your message. The user will then type a response in "Real-Time" back to you. If the user is not "On Community", the message will be shown when the user logs in next.The Buddy system operates like the "AOL IM System". The best thing about these two items is they are firewall proof. That is, if your org prevents you from using ICQ, MSN Messenger and/or AOL Buddy, you may use these with no problem. Neat, eh?
Message Boards Choose from a wide variety of topics then post/add topics as you would with any other MB. Useful for leaving messages that "stick around" awhile.
Clubs Each user is invited to create his/her own Club. The clubs offer an abundant amount of options by which the owner could communicate with others. Likewise, anyone seeing the Club is able to communicate with the owner. These Clubs may and should be linked to each members WebPage so the world can see the content. The content offered on EACH club includes individual message boards, personal chat rooms, email options and much more. Note, the "Search" function found on each of the main pages search only these clubs for user name/info. This is to facilitate quick results in locating similar interests of fellow community members. We feel this will be the main meeting place for users in the system.
Pictures You are encouraged to upload pictures. These may be kept in your own gallery or you may place them into one of several Category Galleries listed. Note, any pics uploaded are available for viewing by anyone in the Community. We feel this will aid in making all Community members feel a little closer to each other. (Shh, secret, please don't tell the admin but these pictures won't count against your 10mg total. Upload as many as you wish at no cost to your account).
Polls We give members a chance to vote on their favorite Members Pages and Clubs. A neat way to interact.
Mail Each new member is able to use the free email client. Your mail address is "username"@USGenealogy.net. Some restrictions apply. Such as, after considerable deliberation, we decided to allow "Send Only" services. You must input your existing "Pop" server info in order to receive email. This is due in part to security issues and in part to bandwidth considerations. See "Help Pages" inside the Service. Or upgrade to a Premium Account.
GuestBooks Guestbooks for use in your newly created Home Page. Full administrative controls and logging.
On-line Help There are many resources available for members. Over 10 pages of help on various topics are easily found. In addtion, we offer a "Whose On-Line" feature. When used in conjunction with our "Moderator On-Line" information link, fast, right now answers can be gotten from the "Instant Messager" system. What could be better?
Profile Edit s your personal information. This is what you entered to the system when you first logged on. Note, USGenealogy, its' affilates and related organizations will not knowingly ever sell, transfer or allow to be seen by any outside person(s) or organization(s) as long as we stay a coherent entity, any information, photographs or any other file types which you upload, store or display. We reserve the right to delete or remove any objectionable articles, links or other objects we deem to be outside the  Usage Guidelines  without notice or review.
MatchU A search engine for finding fellow Community Members with similar interests. Can be for looking for persons from the same town, state, etc. Lots of fun and full of potentional
FileTrader Enables our members to exchange photos, programs, etc amonst themselves. Note, has built-in filters to prevent MP3's from being uploaded.
Misc There are more fun and interesting things to do in the USGenealogy.net Community. We are constantly developing new items and updating existing ones. Use them all or just one, the important thing is that you, our friends, "Have Fun".
