What is Thumper?
Thumper is a set of scripts which, when installed on your own server (or ours), enable you to provide interactions with internet visitors. A quick look at our Thumper will show you the
some of the many features available. Enable persons to create their own Web Pages (with embedded Web Page Editor which includes pre-made Templates), Chat Rooms, Discussion Boards, Net Clubs and more! See This Link for more detailed information on features.
We offer two versions, Thumper II and also A Lite version which is minus the web page module. Both offer the owner opportunity to make friends and Money!!!

How do I make Money?
We have provided ample space for advertising (link banners, etc). This may be used with subscriptions to any of several programs which offer click-through payments. The design also offers flexiblity for many different sizes and types of advertising without being annoying. Of course, your results will vary wildly from other owners.
We can only provide the space and opportunity, it's up to you to make your site profitable.

What do I need for Thumper to work?
| 1. | A broadband connection. DSL/Cable Modem, T1/T3, Satellite Service. This provider must also allow for port 80/8080 (normal Http Web access) This is important!
| | 2. | Web page server. Some means for visitors to view pages from your system. Apache is a fine example. Windows 2000 and above also provide IIS services for this. Note, Thumper has been fully tested on RH/Mandrake Linux systems. If you do not have or do not wish to have a server, We can host it for you. See This Link for more information.
| | 3. | Perl/CGI interpreter. This also means abilty to provide cgi accesses
| | 4. | Simple Perl/HTML editing skills. This isn't a show stopper if you do not have these abilities. We'd be happy to provide some support along these lines, for a small fee.
| | 5. | The time and devotion to a theme or concept. Everyone has a hobby, dream or idea they'd like to showcase. Thumper provides for a massive amount of customization. The time required to make Thumper your own is up to you.
| | 6. | Pentium 133mhz, 128mg RAM and 1gb disk space. Requirements may change depending on member count and usage
| | 7. | A Fully Qualified Domain Name would be great but not required. An IP address would suffice.

Do you have any demo sites?
We have a few already installed here on our servers. Take a look at each, check out what is available and imagine your hobby or special interest having its' own showcase. Remember, both the full Thumper and the Lite versions are highly customizable.
Everything from the background to the borders through the photos, links and yes, advertising possiblities (of which there are many). Advertising? Yes, there are many ways to make $$Money using the Thumpers.
Simple click through ad campaigns and others are possible. It's all up to you!

How much support will I receive?
We will provide a fair and reasonable amount of support with our Live Person Help Desk. Other options include installing Thumper via FTP, phone support, Web Based support (through Thumpers' admin console and support board) and email. Also, we have a Rather innovative idea for updates. This allows for payment to you for your ideas and bug fixes.
We will provide "Extrordinary Support" for a fee. What is important is that we want your product to work. We will help you make it right. This Link leads to our Thumper Support Forum. Just one of many ways to get answers.

What are the distribution methods?
We will allow downloading of a tar/zipped file containg the entire package. We provide an on-line upgrade structure. We can ship a CD to your location or load it on your system via FTP. We can also host your Thumper on our own servers.
If desired, we offer an exciting new deal. Get a system with OS and required packages preloaded. This is a true, "Turn-Key" system, ready to go with minimal knowledge or work on your part. As always, follow on support is available for a minimal fee. We even
have a process to pre-configure your Thumper. With it, you can see exactly how yours will look. This includes a download of all files needed to make it happen on your site. You just can't lose!!

Do you have a try out period?
Yes, due to our return policy (below), you may opt for the trial period. This requires, for the price of $140.00, either the full or lite version may be tested for 14 days on our servers. If satisfied, the full price will be due from you. At that point, we'll send you the code. If not satisfied, $100.00 will be refunded to you.

What is the return policy?
If, after heroic efforts to make your Thumper operate as billed, we will consider a return. Due to the nature of the 'net with its' well-known capacity for copying and/or sharing (not to mention the widespread use of CD burners), we can only refund no more than $75.00 ($100.00 if a try out, above) to any one customer.
Wouldn't this hurt sales? You bet. We have to protect our rather substantial investment somehow.

History
USGenealogy.net was born to in an attempt to assist searchers find their history quickly and freely, unlike the larger, more well known of our counterparts.
We purchased a product, CommunityLinkPro, from what we felt was a reliable source on the West Coast (2cp.something_or_other). Suprisingly, support was unavailable during our time of need. This product, once installed, didn't even begin to work. We noted, to our dismay, many other sites had fallen into the same trap. After heroric and sustained efforts at contacting the company
(turns out to be a single teenager who now runs a hate site (raisethefist.something_or_other) weird, eh?) who had taken our money, we determined to make this junk product work as advertised. Thumper is this result. Not only did we make it work, we improved it. The original set of scripts had liberally "Borrowed" from other sites, among other things. These and literally countless other problems prevented
the original(?) author from making a truly useful product. We stand behind ours. With full, multi-level support, we will not allow you to suffer as we did. Trust is a delicate thing. Give Thumper a chance, you'll be glad you did! We completely redid, relinked and cleansed the original of errors. We know it is a real product now... finally. Let us prove it!
