GeneWeb Service Beginners Information

1.At new member sign up, we created and loaded into your members directory a folder named "geneweb" which contains everything needed to run this application. Also created were two additional files. One is your "index.html" file that serves as your first free web page. This may be viewed at;
"http://www.USGenealogy.net/members/YOURUSERNAME"
On it, there is a link to your Geneweb from the second file, "/cgi-bin/members/username/geneweb.cgi". This is simply the access point to your database.

2.We've loaded a small database named the same as your username. So, to start using the service, load your new HomePage (above). From there, you may begin adding your relations (add family). Once you become used to GeneWeb, you will be able to start changing the "Look and Feel" of your program again by using the Web Editor Tool.

3. For those with existing Gedcom files, we will be happy to assist with converting that format to one GeneWeb can use. It's all good.

4. For support, try these links;

Click to subscribe to GeneWeb

5. We reserve the right to suspend, alter, delete or update the service or any instance of the service without warning. Although we can't think of many reasons why we'd do that.

6. Known bugs. Please see Bug Page for more information. We fixed a problem with our file editor. All functions should operate normally.

7. Directory Scheme - Please see this page
